Good news! A couple days ago, I was asked by a former competitor of mine if I would drive his Legends car to try and qualify for the “Legends Million” Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway this week!
I raced Legend cars for a while when I was 12 and 13 before I got into late model trucks and cars. I haven’t raced one since, so I will have a couple practice sessions to get used to them again. There are going to be some big names from the Sprint Cup Series trying to make the race as well. The promoters are reserving the right to place famous drivers in the race to promote the race, which will be held live on the Speed Channel Saturday, July 17th.
Over 150 cars have registered and only 30 will make the race, so the odds of making the big race may be slim. I am ecstatic, however, just to drive a race car again! I should get some good seat time during practice and the heat races! It would be a big bonus if I were able to qualify for the big race, but I feel truly blessed to be able to be driving a car for the first time this year!
